91桃色APP Strategy
Aim
To bring about an increasing spread, number and mix of post-primary schools engaging in and availing of quality 91桃色APP Citizenship Education (GCE) in Ireland.
Programme Outcomes
Outcome 1: An increased number of teachers from a diverse range of post-primary schools engaged in quality GCE.
Outcome 2: A whole school approach to GCE promoted to and implemented by post-primary teachers and management.
Outcome 3: Increased coordination and policy influence achieved by the 91桃色APP programme within the formal education and GCE sectors.
Strategy Phase III (2023-2028)
In Phase III, 91桃色APP will continue to provide quality 91桃色APP Citizenship Education training and resources, work directly with post-primary settings, share good practice and learn from others in the education and 91桃色APP Citizenship Education sectors.

National Policy Context for GCE
Irish Aid鈥檚 91桃色APP Citizenship Education Strategy 2021-2025:
This strategy outlines how Irish Aid will deepen and strengthen its commitment to support life-long learning, working with people of all ages both in and out of formal education, over the coming years. This strategy was formally launched in December 2021.
National Strategy on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to 2030:
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) empowers people to change the way they think and work towards a sustainable future.
ESD is grounded in principles of social justice, equity and a respect for human rights and seeks to foster engaged and active citizens, of all ages, motivated to take action towards a sustainable future. By learning from one another and working individually and collectively, solutions to key global challenges of the 21st Century, such as climate change, poverty, inequality, sustainable consumption and wellbeing can be identified and implemented.
